Diosa Films is a creative catalyst and production company dedicated to amplifying underrepresented voices in global cinema.
Founded by Dominican-American filmmaker Yuby Hernández, Diosa Films bridges documentary filmmaking, cultural memory, and strategic artistic development to bring overlooked stories into complete visibility.
Rooted in bold, culturally specific storytelling, the company partners with emerging and established artists to create films that honor community, challenge narratives, and expand who gets to be seen. Through production, creative consulting, fundraising, and narrative strategy, Diosa Films transforms raw truth into cinematic power.
At its core, Diosa Films exists to illuminate what others haven't turned an eye to yet - uplifting lived experience into art, and art into impact.

I founded Diosa Films because I have always been able to see what others overlook. As a Dominican-American filmmaker with an MFA in Social Documentary Film and a background in Ethnomusicology, my work has always centered women, immigrants, and communities whose stories rarely receive the visibility they deserve. From my first film about my local Dominican community to my recent work as an executive producer and creative consultant, I’ve built a career on recognizing brilliance early, nurturing it, and transforming lived truth into cinematic power. Diosa Films is the natural extension of that instinct—a creative catalyst shaped by my belief that storytelling can be both art and intervention. Through Diosa, I amplify underrepresented voices, cultivate emerging talent, and create culturally rooted films that honor lineage, shift narratives, and expand who gets to be seen on the global stage.

At Diosa Films, our approach is rooted in deep listening, cultural precision, and an unwavering commitment to visibility. We enter every project by honoring the lived truths at its core, combining documentary rigor with a cinematic, emotionally intuitive sensibility. We work collaboratively and strategically—shaping narrative structure, creative direction, and visual identity in ways that elevate both story and storyteller. As a creative catalyst, we fuse artistry with analysis, drawing on ethnographic methods, industry experience, and cultural fluency to ensure each project emerges with authenticity, resonance, and purpose. Whether developing original work or strengthening a client’s vision, we approach every narrative with the same ethos: illuminate what others ignore, and transform it into something unforgettable.

Diosa Films offers a blend of production, fundraising, creative consulting, and narrative strategy designed to elevate underrepresented stories with precision and cultural depth. We develop and produce original films rooted in community, heritage, and lived truth, while also partnering with artists, organizations, and brands seeking high-level creative support. Our services include story development, pitch-deck creation, impact strategy, artistic feedback, fundraising, and project shaping—from concept to distribution. Guided by a filmmaker’s eye and a strategist’s mind, we help clients refine their vision, strengthen their narrative power, and bring their projects to life with clarity, integrity, and cinematic intention.
